Los últimos hechos ocurridos en el territorio chileno demuestran una vez más lo lejos que estamos en la lucha por el reconocimiento de los pueblos indígenas en Chile y en especial de nuestro pueblo mapuche: El ataque racista efectuado por civiles en la Araucanía con apoyo de carabineros; Más de 100 días de huelga de hambre de comuneros mapuche exigiendo respeto por su pueblo; Dos activictas, madre e hija mapuche, fueron halladas muertas en Ercilla. En vista a estos y muchos otros acontecimientos, el sábado 8 de agosto decidimos organizar un acto en solidaridad al pueblo-nación mapuche.
Más de 50 chilenas, chilenos y simpatizantes nos reunimos frente a Paradeplatz, Zúrich, a expresar nuestro apoyo con cánticos, palabras, bailes y consignas. Nuestro acto partió con una declaración denunciando la situación actual de los mapuche y la represión y violencia por parte del estado chileno, exigiendo el respeto a la convención 169 de la Organización Internacional del Trabajo y demostrando nuestra solidaridad con su lucha por reconocimiento. Siguiendo a nuestro espíritu latinoamericano, el centro económico de Zúrich se llenó de música, baile y consignas por un mejor Chile, que despertaron curiosidad e interés de los transeúntes y viajaron por el mundo a través de las redes internacionales.
Queremos compartir con ustedes algunas imágenes y las firmas simbólicas que reflejan el espíritu de nuestro acto. Pueden revisar aquí el álbum completo con fotos y vídeos del acto.
Queremos también dar las gracias a todos los asistentes y a aquellos que desde la distancia apoyan la lucha por el reconocimiento a nuestra cultura y orígenes y el cese al racismo en Chile. Esperamos que este acto, y los muchos otros que ocurrieron alrededor del mundo, despierten la conciencia de la comunidad y contribuyan a los cambios sociales que nuestro país requiere.

The latest events in Chilean territory show once again how far we are in the struggle for the recognition of indigenous peoples in Chile and especially our Mapuche people: The racist attack carried out by civilians in Araucania with the support of the police; More than 100 days of a hunger strike by Mapuche community members demanding respect for their people; Two activists, a Mapuche mother and daughter, were found dead in Ercilla. In view of these and many other events, on Saturday, August 8 we decided to organize an act of solidarity with the Mapuche people-nation.
More than 50 Chileans and supporters gathered in front of Paradeplatz, Zurich, to express our support with music, words, dances and chants. Our act started with a declaration denouncing the current situation of the Mapuche and the repression and violence on the part of the Chilean state, demanding respect for Convention 169 of the International Labor Organization and demonstrating our solidarity with their struggle for recognition. In keeping with our Latin American spirit, the economic center of Zurich was filled with music, dance and chants for a better Chile, which aroused the curiosity and interest of passers-by and traveled around the world through international networks.

We would also like to thank all those present and those who from a distance support the struggle for the recognition of our culture and origins and the cessation of racism in Chile. We hope that this act, and the many others that occurred around the world, will awaken the conscience of the community and contribute to the social changes that our country requires.

Die jüngsten Ereignisse auf chilenischem Territorium zeigen einmal mehr, wie weit wir im Kampf für die Anerkennung der indigenen Völker in Chile und insbesondere unseres Mapuche-Volkes fortgeschritten sind: Der rassistische Angriff von Zivilisten in Araukanien mit Unterstützung der Polizei; mehr als 100 Tage Hungerstreik von Mitgliedern der Mapuche-Gemeinschaft, die Respekt für ihr Volk fordern; zwei Aktivisten, eine Mapuche-Mutter und -Tochter, wurden in Ercilla tot aufgefunden. Angesichts dieser und vieler anderer Ereignisse haben wir am Samstag, dem 8. August, beschlossen, einen Akt der Solidarität mit der Mapuche-Volksnation zu organisieren.
Mehr als 50 Chilenen und Unterstützer versammelten sich vor dem Paradeplatz in Zürich, um unsere Unterstützung mit Liedern, Worten, Tänzen und Gesänge zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Unsere Aktion begann mit einer Erklärung, in der wir die gegenwärtige Situation der Mapuche sowie die Repression und Gewalt seitens des chilenischen Staates anprangerten, die Einhaltung der Konvention 169 der Internationalen Arbeitsorganisation forderten und unsere Solidarität mit ihrem Kampf um Anerkennung bekundeten. Im Einklang mit unserem lateinamerikanischen Geist war das Wirtschaftszentrum Zürich gefüllt mit Musik, Tanz und Gesänge für ein besseres Chile, die die Neugier und das Interesse der Passanten weckten und durch internationale Netzwerke um die Welt reisten.

Wir möchten auch allen Anwesenden und denen danken, die aus der Ferne den Kampf für die Anerkennung unserer Kultur und unserer Herkunft und die Beendigung des Rassismus in Chile unterstützen. Wir hoffen, dass dieser Akt und die vielen anderen, die sich weltweit ereignet haben, das Gewissen der Gemeinschaft wecken und zu den sozialen Veränderungen beitragen wird, die unser Land braucht.
